The Devonport Park Volunteer Gardeners (DPVG)
The DPVG are a dedicated group of local volunteers, who meet at The Training Centre of the park (close to The Paradise Road entrace) from 10am - 3pm Mondays. A variety of activities and facilities are available (customised to one’s abilities) and informal training given to all who wish to donate their time and skills to helping keep the park look beautiful and pretty. Come along and learn how to care for a variety of plants - from seed to flower, in sun, wind and rain! All you need is yourself, a packed lunch and a drink and suitable clothes for the weather - everything else is provided for you! Quote: It’s been a life-changer in a way … it’s the companionship… the group … how the group look after each other … how we help those from Improving Lives who come. It’s a great group and a great activity (to take part in) … I look forward to it every Monday, even if I only do an hour. It’s great for (mental and physical) health.
