Do yopu have a group or local community initiative you’d like to

advertise here?

If so, please feel free to contact us via the contact methods at the bottom of each website page. We’d love to advertise local initiatives which help improve people’s lives in Plymouth as a whole. Please bear in mind that for profit-making organisations we would ask for a regular small donation to the FoDP Charity.

The Devonport Park Volunteer Gardeners (DPVG)

The DPVG are a dedicated group of local volunteers, who meet at The Training Centre of the park (close to The Paradise Road entrace) from 10am - 3pm Mondays. A variety of activities and facilities are available (customised to one’s abilities) and informal training given to all who wish to donate their time and skills to helping keep the park look beautiful and pretty. Come along and learn how to care for a variety of plants - from seed to flower, in sun, wind and rain! All you need is yourself, a packed lunch and a drink and suitable clothes for the weather - everything else is provided for you! Quote: It’s been a life-changer in a way … it’s the companionship… the group … how the group look after each other … how we help those from Improving Lives who come. It’s a great group and a great activity (to take part in) … I look forward to it every Monday, even if I only do an hour. It’s great for (mental and physical) health. (by Kate Parker) For more information contact Mike Gallagher either via the FDP facebook group or by email or simply drop by at 10am on a Monday morning.
