Welcome to the website of The Friends of Devonport Park (FoDP) charity, located within the historic seaside city of Plymouth, on the south west coast of England. 

Initially a Friends group (formed in 2005), the Friends of Devonport Park (FoDP) became a registered charity in 2014 and today operates with the core mission of transforming and maintaining our historic Victorian park as Plymouth’s premier, inclusive community hub. Working in close partnership with Plymouth City Council, our objectives are to combat social isolation, bridge community divides, and enrich the lives of Devonport’s highly diverse population through shared public spaces. Reflecting our long-term commitment to operational excellence, our collaborative stewardship has successfully secured and maintained the prestigious international Green Flag Award status for 15 consecutive years.

While we successfully raise vital annual funds to regenerate the park's physical landscape and host free, accessible community events, our ultimate aim is to form social bridges between the diverse communities that surround Devonport Park. We use this award-winning, historic infrastructure to create a neutral, welcoming environment where residents from all backgrounds, ages, and walks of life can connect, interact, and build a stronger, more cohesive local community.

One of the future aims of the FoDP is to engage the local communities in educational activities and opportunities where they can learn about the history and development of Devonport Park and its surrounding areas, whilst also fostering greater understanding of the benefits of biodiversity and nature within our city-scapes.
